Tasting Notes-Arran 21 Year Old Explorers Series Volume Two
An elegant and flavouring whisky. A complex and multi-layered dram reflects the diversity, allure and charm of the beautiful island.
The distillery was opened at Lochranza in 1995, north of the island of Arran. Lochranza is the perfect location for producing the perfect malt whisky. The area is home to the purest water in Scotland that’s been cleansed by granite and softened by peat as it slowly meanders from the mountain tops into nearby Loch na Davie.
The distillery uses traditional methods of distilling, with wooden wash-backs and copper stills designed to exact specification. Peat is not used in the production process or caramel for artificial colouring like many other distilleries.
All single malts are non-chill filtered which means they’re natural in pigment and exactly the way whisky should be.
