Tasting Notes-Benromach 35 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky 43%
Cinnamon spice hints and beeswax polish, stewed pear and a delicate charred oak edge.
The first Benromach distillery was opened in 1898 and situated in Elgin, Speyside, Scotland. It began doing single cask malt whiskies in different distilleries in 1915 when everyone else was doing blended whisky.
There are 3 distilleries and a family business run by the Urquharts of Elgin who are very passionate about their whisky.
They bought the mothballed Benromach distillery in 1998 and every cask is filled by hand and make their whisky by smell, sound and touch.
