Tasting Notes- Benromach Vintage 2010 Batch 01 58.5 %
Colour:
Dark amber.
Aroma:
Rich sherry and spice, leading to soft orange zest and dark chocolate.
Palate:
Stewed fruit and dark honey give way to baked apple. Sweet red berry flavours develop alongside subtle cracked black pepper.
Finish:
Long and full bodied with soft smoke and sweet fruit.
Notes from Benromach
Benromach Distillery
The first Benromach distillery was opened in 1898 and situated in Elgin, Speyside, Scotland. It began doing single cask malt whiskies in different distilleries in 1915 when everyone else was doing blended whisky.
There are 3 distilleries and a family business run by the Urquharts of Elgin who are very passionate about their whisky.
They bought the mothballed Benromach distillery in 1998 and every cask is filled by hand and make their whisky by smell, sound and touch.
