Tasting Notes-Cardhu 16 Year Old 58.2%
Aromas:
Lively,fresh and floral aromas yield grassy top notes with ripe orchard fruits and a trace of vanilla, on a light wood balsa wood base.
Texture:
Is creamy-smooth.
Taste:
Starts sweet, then there is a delicious spicy dryness as really peppery warmth lasts into the long finish.
Finish:
Remains pleasingly long, sweet chilli-pepper heat lingers in the aftertaste.
Notes from Cardhu
Cardhu Distillery
Was founded by John and Helen Cumming in 1811 as an illicit distillery and licensed in 1824. In 1872 Elizabeth Cummings daughter-in-law took over the running of the distillery and set about refining the flavour and character of the whisky we know today.
The distillery is now run by Diageo and the distillery’s Scotch whisky makes up an important part of the Johnnie Walker blended whiskies
The distillery went through an amazing renovation and completed in 2021, outside stands an anazing statue of John and Helen Cumming.
“They distil the Speyside Malt that is enjoyed around the world on its own and as the heart of Johnnie Walker whiskies”.
