Gordon and MacPhail

Is a family business over 120 years. Since 1895 they have been committed to the art of maturing scotch whisky. Over the years they have created a unique collection of single malt whisky. Their stocks include rare expressions and exceptional one-offs which makes them popular.

Lying at the heart of their unrivalled portfolio, this range demonstrates the pursuit of perfection in matching cask with spirit.

These single cask and small batch expressions offer an ever-changing collection of unique perspectives on distilleries’ own bottlings.

For the malt whisky explorer this delivers a journey of discovery through different flavours, finishes, strengths and vintages-from Gordon and MacPhail.

Strathmill Distillery

Strathmill was founded in 1823, not as a distillery but a cornmill. In 1891 inspired by the whisky boom going on around them, the owners convert the mill into a distillery.

It traded under the name Glenisla-Glenlivet, perhaps named for the river Isla which runs past the foot of the building.

In 1895 Gin makers W & A Gilbey bought the distillery in 1962 and changed the name to Strathmill. Gilbey merged with United Wine Traders to make International Distillers & Vintners.

It has been owned by Diageo since 1997 who operate it for the production of blends such as J&B whisky. Strathmill casks are used by Duncan Taylor to bottle their whisky.
