Strathisla Distillery

The distillery was first known as the Milltown Distillery,  it was founded by George Taylor and Alexander Milne in 1786. By 1830 it was owned by William Longmore but In 1879 the distillery went on fire and rebuilt as a bottling plant.

It was bought in 1940 by Jay Pomeroy and eventually sold to the Chivas Brothers in 1950.

The distillery sits on the banks of the River Isla and one of the most picturesque in the Highlands of Scotland.
